Experience
I am a certified teacher and have taught 1st grade for 7 years. I completed a year of training in Reading Recovery, an intervention that targets struggling readers. As a reading interventionist, I worked with struggling readers and have tutored Dyslexic students for the past 6 years. My passion lies in helping students become successful, confident readers and writers. Parents describe me as patient and kind. My students enjoy working with me as I try to make learning fun. Children like hands-on learning with magnetic letters, water boards, games, letter tiles, 3-D boards, etc. I enjoy building relationships with my students and getting to know their learning style.

I am a member of Southland Christian Church and enjoy helping others. I volunteer in the children's ministry as a life group leader. Investing in the lives of the next generation is very rewarding and fun. I enjoy a competitive game of putt-putt, riding go-carts, playing laser tag, riding roller coasters, and am a big fan of all things Disney. I'm an animal lover and a kid at heart.
